Medical Billing & Coding Degree

The ASMBC program focuses on classifying & coding diagnosis & procedures.


Students who successfully complete the ASMBC degree program may:
• Gain entry to mid-level professional opportunities in the areas of
health care information processing, retention, storage & retrieval
• Have a sophisticated understanding of the information technology
systems used in the collection, interpretation, analysis & retrieval
of patient information, as well as financial, medical & administrative data
• Be skilled in the classifying & coding of diagnosis procedures &

• Possess the abilities required in the transference of patient medical
records to insurance claims & billing for services provided
